Barca out of Champions League : Barcelona 0-3 Bayern

Barcelona 0-3 Bayern Munich
 26-10-2022  –  Camp Nou   –  Anthony Taylor

FC
Barcelona saw its Champions League hopes die when Inter beat FC Viktoria
Plzen. Later, Bayern Munich broke their hearts with a 3-0 win.
Bayern won
their Champions League group for the fifth consecutive year , this time after
one game , after a thrilling encounter at the Camp Nou.
With 15 points, 16 goals scored and two conceded, Bayern are once again among the best in Europe. Nagelsmann’s company have five games left before the World Cup break to extend their purple streak and have every chance of being the best on all three fronts in the spring of 2023.

FC Bayern
beat FC Barcelona 3-0 on Wednesday night to win their Champions League group
for the fifth time in a row. Sadio Mané and Eric Maxim Choupo,Moting gave
Bayern a two, goal lead in the first half before Benjamin Pavard completed the
scoring in stoppage time.

The
Bavarians started with Sven Ulreich in goal and Noussair Mazraoui, Dayot
Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt and Alphonso Davies at full, back. Joshua Kimmich
and Leon Goretzka appeared in midfield behind Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and
Mané with Choupo,Moting. Marcel Sabitzer replaced Goretzka at half, time, while
Pavard, Thomas Müller, Ryan Gravenberch and Josip Stanišić replaced Upamecano,
Choupo,Moting, Musiala and Mazraoui in the second half.

The
opening series offered some surprises. Thomas Müller and Benjamin Pavard didn’t
go, but it was probably a wise decision to shoot. Müller is coming off illness
and injury, while Pavard could always use the day off to share his injury
history. Both players also believe that they have an important role to play for
their respective nations during the World Cup, so the rest went well for me.
Noussair Mazraoui started for Pavard and Eric Maxim Choupo,Moting started as a
forward in the Bavarians’ more traditional formation. Jamal Musiala replaced
Müller at number 10

Barcelona
already started Wednesday’s game against Bayern Munich, relegated to the
Champions League, with two games in the group stage, but has shown against the
Germans that it can be at the level of the Europa League thanks to the terrible
defeat by 3,0 against the Germans. the Camp Nou Spotify. The Blaugrana lacked
fight, intensity and creativity in attack and lost comfortably to a Bayern team
that barely had to try for 90 minutes.

The
knocked down and knocked down body language of the Barcelona players during the
Champions League anthem was a sign of things to come. The first 45 minutes were
absolutely pathetic for a team clearly shaken by Inter’s victory and unable to
muster energy or intensity.

Only
Ousmane Dembélé showed true fighting spirit and Robert Lewandowski was the only
player willing to face Bayern’s physical game and at least try to be a threat.
The Germans have never had to work so hard and still created great chances and
found the back of the net against a lousy Barca defence.

The
advantage came with a superb through ball from Serge Gnabry and found Sadio
Mané, who easily outpaced Héctor Bellerín and got past Marc,André ter Stegen to
put Bayern ahead. 20 minutes later, a similar counterattack goal with a second
pass from Gnabry and a fine shot from Eric Maxim Choupo,Moting.

Barca
almost got a lifeline just before half, time when Lewandowski was challenged by
Matthijs De Ligt and referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty before going VAR
and changing sides. his appeal. .

A
demoralizing Barça at half, time deserved two goals against a Bayern team that
didn’t need to try and unfortunately there were still 45 minutes to go.

Sergio
Busquets shoots high before Bayern have the ball in the net for the third time
when Kimmich’s beautiful chip finds Gnabry huddled in the far corner of the net
but the goal is wide.

Ansu Fati
hit the side net as Barcelona advanced, but Monaco were solid defensively. Ter
Stegen turned Gnabry and Mané back, but Bayern scored the third in stoppage
time when Gnabry missed a shot that found an unsigned Pavard, who swept in from
close range.

Xavi
Hernández, for reasons known only to him, made no substitutions at half, time
and watched his side deteriorate further for 15 minutes before deciding to make
a substitution, but the match was already over. There already the Barça did not
have answer. Bayern. a team that kept sleepwalking to an easy win.

There has
been a slight improvement in attack in the last 20 minutes with the entry of
Ansu Fati, but nothing that has really made a difference.

The final whistle came to end Barça’s run to the Champions League with another European embarrassment.
