Crystal Palace 2-1 Wolverhampton Match Report

 Crystal Palace 2-1 Wolverhampton

Crystal Palace triumphed over Wolverhampton Wanderers thanks to a strong attacking game, winning 2-1 credit goes to Eberechi Eze and
Wilfred Zaha.

The Wolves struck before half-time, with Traore heading a cross
from debutant Hugo Bueno to end a great team game, and Ruben Neves hit the post
to try to make the lead more comfortable.

Adama Traore’s first Premier League goal of the season was not
enough for the Wolves in the capital, who had a second-half comeback at Crystal
Palace, recording their third defeat outright.

This proved to be a key moment as Eberechi Eze equalized just
after half time and Wilfried Zaha scored the winning goal when he was left free
in the Wolves’ box, leaving the Wolves disappointed for the rest of the game,
as was their good performance in the first period. . doesn’t matter.

The Wolves have been having a hard time leaving the house lately,
but Steve Davis couldn’t have wished for more than what he saw in his first 45
minutes at Selhurst Park when the Wolves took the lead and were well priced.

A lively start greeted traveling old gold fans in south London as
they watched Palace midfielder Cheik Ducur hit the post from afar and Diego
Costa turned down Vicente Guaita after Daniel Podenza’s pass, but it wasn’t
clear enough to join his effort. . .

England defender Mark Gehi heads past José Sa for the hosts, who
watched in comfort as Neves shot from long range after one of the Wolves’
several coups in the first period.

And the opening goal followed on the next move. Neves sent Bueno
off with a free pass from the left and at full open, the Spaniard looked up to
brilliantly select his compatriot Adama at the back post before completing the
remainder with a header between Guaita and his near post to make it 1-0.

As on Saturday, Adama posed a constant threat to the Wolves on the
right and after being knocked down by Ducourt on the counterattack, Neves took
the lead, whose free-kick went around the wall but hit the post. the captain’s
agony at half-time.

If the first half went smoothly for the guests, the second could
not start worse. Michael Ollis was given wide space to pass with his left foot
and cross Eze, who was on the blind side of Semedo, to nod at the back post in
the first minute.

Unfortunately, this set the tone for a very different second half,
where Palace were sharper and Wolves lacked the quality they wanted in both
boxes. After the hosts rushed to keep the 1–1 score, Podenza checked Guaita in
the Palace goal but failed to save a corner.

Sadly, a triple substitution at the hour mark did not
ignite the Wolves, and Sa, unable to do anything, set up an overhead shot to
Odsonne Edouard, which Edouard took after Eze’s pass and found a free Zak to
shoot past the open goalkeeper.

The Wolves sent bodies forward in search of an equalizer and Neves
checked Guaita on a parry while Nathan Collins missed from close range, unaware
that Gonzalo Guedes had been ambushed during the build-up, the final point of
discussion on a disappointing trip to capital.

In an interview after the game, Wilfried Zaha said, he couldn’t
“yell on the pitch” if he didn’t do his bit and that he had
“a responsibility to the team”.

“When you play football in the first team you understand that
you have a responsibility to the team,” he explained. “It’s not just about
driving the ball and trying to hit it every time.

“I try to work as hard as everyone else. I can’t scream and
yell like on the pitch if I’m not doing what everyone else has to do, so I’m
doing my part.”
